Chemical Properties |
solid |
Uses |
Brij O10 has been used in a study to assess the aqueous surfactant two-phase systems for the continuous countercurrent cloud point extraction. |
Brand name |
Brij 96 (ICI Americas); Brij 97 (ICI Americas). |
General Description |
Brij? 93 is a non-ionic surfactant which has a polar group in the form of polyoxyethylene that is separated by the polyethylene chains. Its molecular structure includes polyethylene glycol (PEG) single chain. It is slightly soluble in water and has a hydrophobic nature. |
Flammability and Explosibility |
Nonflammable |
Safety Profile |
Moderately toxic by ingestion. Askin and eye irritant. When heated to decomposition itemits acrid smoke. |
Protein refolding from bacterial inclusion bodies is a crucial step for the production of recombinant proteins, but the refolding step often results in significantly lower yields due to aggregation.
The NRTL-HOC and the UNIQUAC-HOC models were applied to correlate the experimental VLE data. Both the models obtained comparable results.
